Instagram has quickly become my go to place for inspiration and ideas. Lately I have been seeing this cool feature where users are able to make their pictures take up more spaces than just that one little square on their page. Allowing images to take up more real estate on your page definitely makes an impact on followers. These grids are also totally reminiscent of a photo mosaic, so naturally I had to give it try.
I like to hop on Reddit now and then because they always seem to be on the cutting edge of trends, especially when it comes to technology. And as you probably already know, I also like to seek out other photo mosaic lovers to see what they’re up to in the hopes of finding something new! Most recently, while browsing, I came across some photo mosaic fan art that really blew me away.
With today being Inauguration Day, it is only appropriate to write about a project I found that Deep Focus, Now This, GIPHY, and Picture Mosaics have undertaken – A photo mosaic project that will make history.
I’m excited to share the new adventure I’ve decided to take on for 2017. I signed up at my local high school to give a presentation to the art students, on photography techniques & best practices – tips on how to improve their photo skills.
Keep your eyes out for this one! Fonterra Australia is on a mission to collect thousands of photographs over the next three months to create a massive photo mosaic wall mural at the entrance of their plant in Australia.
In my recent internet adventures, I stumbled upon a truly hidden gem in Los Angeles, California – The Mosaic Tile House. A house with nearly every square inch covered in mosaic tile!
With the big site move and the chaos of the holiday season, I haven’t had much time to write lately. But for this, I just had to stop and share. I’m done all my holiday shopping – with over two weeks to spare! If you know me, that is completely unheard of.
For all those do-it-yourselfers out there, this is for you…
Originally before selecting a mosaic service to create my mosaic, I tried several different mosaic software programs, with not much success (read my intro for details). Recently, I again scoured the web and found 4 seemingly popular online mosaic creation sites that would create my mosaic right online – how cool! I loaded the same source and cell images into each tool along with similar settings for sizing and coloration. My results are summarized below. I hope you find this review helpful 🙂
