Brooklyn based artist, Dustin Yellin has left me in awe with his photo mosaic sculptures! His combination of collage, photo mosaic, painting, and sculpture work are all rolled into one mind-bending art form.

I happen to be walking through Times Square last weekend, when I stumble upon one of the most stunning mosaics I have ever seen. It was at least 70 to 80 feet tall and made up of varying sized photos (also known as multi-size-cells by the creators). The mosaic was promoting eHarmony 10th Anniversary.
The newest thing to hit the photo mosaic world are video (or animation) mosaics. You may have see them on TV comercials and movie trailers. The High Definition standard (1920×1080 pixels) has allowed clarity and resoltuion that allows video mosaics to live up to their full potential (compared to standard def).
Finding good examples of them on the web is tough, but thanks to YouTube, I have found some great examples:

For all those dog lovers out there, here is a very cool mosaic sponsored by Pedigree. It seems that they are still a long way from their goal. Check the mosaic out here: Million Dog Mosaic
