Mosaics have been an art form for centuries, so it is always exciting to see when an artist finds a way to take it even further! That’s what Colorado-based artist, Nataly Parson did when she created an optical illusion mosaic triptych.
While photo mosaics might be the new form of mosaic work, this artist is taking it back to basics but with an Op Art Contemporary twist. The three mosaics use about 6,570 pieces of tile! After almost 2 years in the making, Nataly finally completed her three-part mosaic series using hand cut ceramic tile on a thin wooden board.
Parson began the mosaic in Alabama and finished in Colorado, with a short stint in Georgia! Parson and her family moved 3 times in a year and she managed to pack and unpack this project each time, working during her child’s naps!
Nataly has a wide variety of mosaic art that she shares on her Instagram page that can be seen here! Maybe her next piece will be a photo mosaic, we will have to wait and see!
